What's In A Name?

Today I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals to talk about names! How did you name your child, pet, or how did you get your own name?? This is such a fun topic for me because I LOVE names! As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I immediately wanted to start picking out names!  Matt doesn't think this game is as fun as I do, but he still plays along. We were convinced for the longest time that our baby was going to be a girl, and we were set on a girl's name...Catherine Mae.   We wanted to name her after my mother, who had passed away a couple years earlier, and we both completely agreed on the name immediately.  We didn't even really talk about boy names because were were just SURE we were having a girl.  Ha! We had tossed out a couple boy names but nothing too serious.  When the doctor told us we were having a boy, she turned and asked me if we had a name picked out.  For some reason, the name just came out of my mouth "Campbell."  It is Matt's mom's maiden name and I have always loved the sound of it.  It's not a common first name, which I like, because I didn't want him to have the same name as everyone else.  I also like how the names Campbell and Catherine sound together, if we ever happen to have a girl.. His middle name is William...that is Matt's middle name and also Matt's grandfather's name.  Basically his entire name is from Matt's side!  We absolutely LOVE his name and it fits him so well... he was meant to be Campbell!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey ya'll!

We had such a fun weekend! It was spent with family celebrating upcoming birthdays and an engagement!

Friday evening, Matt ended up having to work later than normal, so Campbell and I spent some quality mother/son time outside looking for "bugs" and "trucks!"  He is such a boy and I am just loving it!

Saturday morning, we headed over to Matt's parents house for a family brunch.  We all got together to celebrate April birthdays...mine is April 17th and Katelyn's is April 28th.  Matt's mom had mimosas, a waffle bar filled with yummy toppings, and an egg casserole.  It was SO delicious and I ate way too much!  We opened presents and then had some birthday cake!

Opening gifts! I got some beautiful earrings from Francesca's, a pretty necklace, a Homegoods/TJ Maxx gift card, and a gift card to Sephora! Wohoo!!

My little helper! He loved helping me open all my gifts...he had to get in on the action!

Birthday girls :)

Another reason we got together on Saturday, was to celebrate Katelyn's recent engagement!  She got engaged this past Wednesday, in Hawaii, to her boyfriend Blake! It was so great to see them, hear about their proposal story, and get to see her new bling :)  We love Blake and think that he is a great addition to our family!

I made Katelyn an engagement gift! It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but it's a map of Hawaii in the shape of a heart.  Underneath the map it says "I have found the one whom my soul loves" and then their engagement date!

Katelyn and Blake :)

Sunday after church, while Campbell was napping, I went out shopping with the gift cards I got on Saturday!   I stopped on the way to the mall, and got Starbucks and just took my sweet time browsing at the store...I honestly didn't know what to do with myself without a toddler with me!  It was just glorious!

I ended up getting this Steve Madden cross body bag from TJ/Maxx and I love it SO much! I've been looking for a bag like this for awhile now and I haven't been able to find one that I like.  This bag was love at first sight :)

I also got this cute kimono from Ross! I don't plan on wearing it with that dress, obviously, but I thought it would be cute paired with something like this...thank you Pinterest for the idea :)

Sunday evening, we spent outside together as a family! The weather was absolutely perfect and everything is so pretty and green right now...we are just loving spring!

Helping daddy clean up the flower beds!

Deep conversations with daddy!

Campbell just could not stop giving me hugs!! It was the sweetest thing!!

He would literally go play for a few seconds then say "mama mama" and run back and give me a hug! He did this at least ten times or more! Moments like these I want to remember forever :)

That's it for our weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone...the weekend is almost here!  This weekend we will be having a early birthday party, with Matt's side of the family, for me and my sister-in law.  We are also going to be celebrating my sister-in-laws engagement!  She just got engaged yesterday in Hawaii, so I'm excited to see her and her and hear all about it! Today I am linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites!

ONE

This corn spoonbreadis AMAZING! I made it twice over Easter weekend and got asked for the recipe both times! I've seriously thought about making a whole pan of it just for myself, but I'm trying to have some self control :)

TWO

After reading other people's suggestions on the recent Favorite Nail Polish link up, I decided to buy Essie's Ballet Slippers.  It is such a beautiful neutral pink color and I LOVE it.  It's perfect for spring and summer!

THREE

Right now, the women in my life group are going through this study together.  It is over the women in the Bible and I am really enjoying it.  I really love how God used ordinary women, just like you and I, to make such an impact and fulfill His purpose.  These women  made themselves available to God's call, were obedient to Him, and God was able to use them in miraculous ways.  I have really been convicted through this study, that I need to make myself more available for God to use me and work through me.

FOUR

I have really been trying to cut out soda, coffee, and caffeine.  I'm just tired of being dependent on something to give me energy, plus I put so much cream and sugar in my coffee that it's really not good for me.  This passion tea from Starbucks is caffeine free and tastes so good! I get it unsweetened and then add a Stevia to it.  It really helps on a day when I'm tired of drinking JUST water...it makes me feel like I'm drinking something fun :)

FIVE

And I saved the best for last :)  I LOVE snuggling with this sweet boy.  Most days I let Campbell watch one episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  It is his favorite show and he always wants to sit on my lap or snuggle with me while he watches it.  It really melts my heart...I want to soak up all the snuggles I can before he gets big and doesn't want to snuggle with mom anymore!

That's it for my Friday Favorites this week! Thanks for stopping by!

Liebster Award

Yesterday I was nominated by Katie from Better off Benedict for the Liebster Award! I had never heard of this award, but basically it is an award for new bloggers..and it gives readers a chance to discover new blogs!

Katie gave me a list of 10 questions to answer..so here we go!

1. Which bloggers inspire you the most?
The two bloggers that really got me interested in blogging are Shay from Mix and Match Family and Kelly from Kelly's Korner!

2. Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog because I loved reading other people's blogs, so I thought I would try it out.  I also wanted to use my blog as a way to look back and document what's going on in our lives!

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Honestly, I really love where I'm living now, but husband and  I dream about having more land and a slower paced life.  Maybe in a nice small town, with a couple acres of land, and a cute farm house :)

4. What is your favorite store?
My favorite store is Target! You can seriously get everything there!

5. What are three things you never leave home without?
One-diaper bag
Two-Phone
Three-Sunglasses

6. What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Spend time with my family...I so treasure the times we are all together and enjoy relaxing together!

7. Who is your hero?
My hero is my mom.  She is no longer living, but she was the BEST mom and I really hope to be just like her some day.

8. What was your dream job when you were a child?
When I was a child I think I wanted to be a Shamu trainer...Now I would never EVER want to jump in a tank with a killer whale, but as a 5 year old it seemed fun :)

9. What is your biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is when people don't chew with their mouth closed.  It drives me crazy!!!

10. What is your favorite food?
My favorite food has really changed over the years, but I think right now it would be BBQ.  I love BBQ chicken, corn casserole, baked beans, mashed potatoes...YUM, SO GOOD!

Thank you so much Katie for the award!!

Show and Tell Tuesday-Favorite Vacation

Hey ya'll! Today I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals to share with you my favorite vacation.  I have been blessed to go on many amazing vacations, but I think one that stands out to me the most was the babymoon we took the summer before Campbell was born.  We made it a priority to take a nice vacation, just the two of us, before having Campbell and I am SO GLAD that we did.  We decided to go to Destin, Fl because the beaches there are beautiful and it didn't require us leaving the country or flying on a plane.  We stayed at a nice hotel right on the beach, so we would wake up each morning and spend our whole day lounging by the water.  It was such a relaxing and sentimental vacation for the two of us.  We struggled a lot with infertility, so it was very surreal being at such a beautiful place with a baby on the way...it was such a wonderful feeling.  God had truly blessed us and we were just so thankful to Him, and we still are :)

I can't wait to read about all of your vacations! Thanks for stopping by!

Easter 2015

Hey ya'll! We had such a fun and BUSY weekend celebrating our Savior and spending time with family and friends...it was literally non-stop!

Matt had Good Friday off from work, so we left bright and early Friday morning for the lake!  Matt's parents have a lake house, so we love going there to get some quality family time together. It's so peaceful and beautiful there, it really makes you slow down and forget the rat race that we seem to live in :)

Come on mom! We're ready to go!!

This was Campbell's first time on the paddle boat and he LOVED it SO much! The entire time he just kept saying "boat, ducks, birds, wa-wa."  He had a blast!

Swinging with my sweet boy :)

While we were at the lake, we also had an Easter egg hunt but we were so busy video taping it, that we forgot to take any pictures :(

Saturday evening, we headed back to town because Matt's cousin had a 30th birthday party.  It was a lot of fun and we got to see most of Matt's extended family!

Sunday morning, we woke up and headed to church.  Then afterwards, we came back home and let Campbell open his Easter basket. He loved it!!

Reading one of his Bible story books with daddy :)

After opening his Easter basket, we headed over to have brunch with our life group.  It was such a great time of good food, fun, and fellowship!

Thanks for stopping by!
