Weekend Wrap Up

We had such a crazy busy but fun filled weekend this past weekend! I seriously felt like we were going non-stop but we had a blast...I was sad to see it end.  I really cherish our weekends when we get time all together as a family!

Friday night, we went to Mooyah burger, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE burger place.  I ate way too much but it's just so so good!

Saturday morning, Matt's dad came over to help fix our sprinkler system.  One of our pipes to the sprinklers busted and it was a pretty big job, but they got it fixed! Campbell LOVED helping daddy and grandpa by giving them tools.  He kept coming up to them and saying "help help"...it seriously was the cutest thing.  I'm so thankful that he has such godly men in his life that work with him and teach him new things.  He is so lucky to have such a great dad and grandpa!

Saturday afternoon, our neighborhood had an Easter egg hunt and petting zoo.  Last year, Campbell was too young to really participate in the egg hunt.  So this year we were excited that he could participate and understand what was going on.  He was so excited to carry his Easter basket, pick up eggs, and eat the candy that was inside them.  I can't believe how big he is getting! Where did my baby go?!

On Sunday, we went to a birthday party for one of Campbell's friends.  It was at an indoor gym for children and it was AWESOME.  They had so many different obstacle courses and fun activities for the kids to do.  They had swings. scooters, basketball hoops, ball pits, gym mats, slides, etc.  Campbell was in heaven...plus he got a cupcake at the end so that was the icing on top :)

Sunday evening, Matt grilled us up some hamburgers and we ate a nice dinner outside in the  backyard.  We love that it is warm enough to start grilling again!

Thanks for stopping by!

Favorite Nail Polishes!

Happy Monday to you! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend...ours was crazy busy and fun filled! Today I am linking up with Andrea and Erika to show you guys some of my favorite nail polishes! I will admit...I am not a huge nail polish person.  I hardly ever go to an actual nail place and pay for a manicure or pedicure.  I also rarely, rarely, rarely paint my finger nails...it never stays on long and I always somehow mess them up while waiting for them to dry.  However, I do ALWAYS have my toes painted.  I just feel like my feet (which aren't very cute to begin with) look a little cuter with some nail polish on them.  So here you go...I am in by NO MEANS a nail polish expert and I don't invest much money into a nail polish collection, but here are some of my favorites right now.

My husband bought me this nail polish for Christmas this year.  Funny story...I asked him to buy me some red nail polish for Christmas and he said when he went to Target he was just staring at the row of nail polishes and had NO clue what to get.  A lady that happened to be working in the cosmetic department saw that he obviously needed some help and she picked this color out haha.  Anyway, this color is called The Thrill of Brazil and it's a really pretty reddish color.  It's kind of  a mixture of red and pink, so I think it really could work well for any season of the year.

Here is a picture of it painted on my nails....just a very pretty classic color :)

While I was at Walmart his week, I picked up a couple nail polish colors that I thought would be really good for Spring.  These are both by Sinful Colors...I haven't tried them yet but I thought they looked pretty in the bottle!

This color is called Rose Dust, it's a very pretty pale purple.  I am planning on painting my nails this color for Easter!

This color is called Daredevil...it's a coral/pink color...perfect for spring and summer :)

So there you have it! I cannot wait to see what nail polishes you all have to recommend!

Arboretum

Hey ya'll! This past Tuesday Campbell and I headed out to the Arboretum for some fun! We met up with the other moms and kiddos from our playgroup and had the BEST time! The weather was perfect, the flowers were beautiful, and all the kids were in a good mood :)

Pushing a wheelbarrow and collecting dirt...such a boy!

Help me mom, I'm surrounded!

They had their splash park open already and we didn't know it would be.  Needless to say, Campbell's entire outfit got soaked but he had a blast :)

Look Mom, a donkey!!

He loved petting the goats

Every time I go to the Arboretum and see all the beautiful trees and flowers, I can't help but imagine what heaven will be like.  It's amazing to think that the God that created all this beauty is preparing a place for me to spend eternity with Him.  I am sure it will be 1,000 times more beautiful than our local Arboretum too. It gets me so excited just thinking about it!

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:3

Allergies, Allergies, Allergies Oh My!

Happy Monday to you! Today I am blogging about allergies...yes, allergies.  Our poor little guy has been having some issues and we are finally getting to the bottom of it, thankfully!  When we went in for Campbell's 15 month appointment he had not gained any weight since his 12 month appointment.  I told the doctor that he had been having a lot of digestive issues and we both thought maybe he just had a little stomach bug.  Unfortunately, the digestive issues did not go away.  Our doctor started to really worry about Campbell's weight and symptoms, so she sent us in for allergy testing. She said that if he was eating a lot of foods that he was allergic to, it could be causing all the vomiting and diarrhea he was continually having.  So, we were sent to a pediatric allergist and got a TON of allergy testing done.  I felt so bad for Campbell, but he was such a trooper.  He had to lay on me and stay still for about 20 minutes (which is impossible for a toddler) in order to get all the skin testing done on his back.  I ended up just turning on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on my phone and he laid there perfectly still the entire time! Thank you Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...we would not have survived without you :)  Poor Campbell was pretty much allergic to every single thing they put on his skin:  milk, eggs, nuts, wheat, soy.  I was so sad when I found out he had so many allergies and that I had been giving him so many things he was allergic to without realizing it.  He had been eating all of these things for months and months without any reaction to them, but the doctor explained that sometimes it takes time for allergies to manifest.  My husband, Matt, also has all the same allergies that Campbell does so he takes after his daddy!

Next, we were sent to a GI doctor and a nutritionist.  They basically set up a plan for us to follow for the next couple months.  We are doing an elimination diet where we don't give him ANY of the things he tested allergic to for two months.  After the two months is up, we are going to see how he is doing and possibly slowly add one food he's allergic to back into his diet at a time. The doctor is very hopeful that he will outgrow these allergies at some point in time.  Since cutting out all of these foods, his digestive issues have pretty much completely gone away.  Hallelujah! It has been a struggle to find things for him to eat since almost everything is made out of wheat, eggs, or milk!  Thankfully the nutritionist and PINTEREST have been so helpful to me! I guess one positive to all of these crazy allergies is we are all having to eat healthier as a family!  We are all basically eating a Paleo diet and I honestly feel better eating this way too! Here are some recipes that I have come to know and love :)

One Pot Chicken and Potatoes-I sub the regular potatoes for sweet potatoes

Taco Quinoa Bake- I don't put cheese on Campbell's portion

I hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by! If you have any recipes that are allergy friendly please post them in the comment section below!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday to ya! I have been a complete slacker this week and have not blogged at all.  It has been spring break here where we live, and we have been away from home on a family vacation! I will blog more about it later...I promise.  Today I am linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites...here are my favorites for this week:

ONE

I love this stuff!!  It is the best facial mask I have ever used and it is SUPER cheap! I got it from Sprouts for $6.00 and it has lasted forever.  I mix the clay with apple cider vinegar, leave it on for 20 minutes, and it really leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh.  I also love that this is an all natural mask, so I don't have to worry about any negative effects it could have on my body.

TWO

I just bought this at the store after having other people recommend it to me.  These Downy Unstopables are so fun and make your laundry smell SO GOOD!  They have a few different scents to choose from, but I like this one the best so far!  It makes doing laundry a little more bearable :)

THREE

My last favorite for the week is family vacations!  We had such a great time on our vacation this week to San Antonio, and I will blog more about it next week.  Matt and I had been to San Antonio before, but taking Campbell made it so much more fun.  It is so fun to see him experience new things for the first time and to make special memories as a family :)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Favorites!!

Yay it's Friday!! That means that the weekend is almost here! It also means that is time to link up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci to share our Friday Favorites!  Since we have had SO MANY snow days in Texas lately, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite things for winter.  Here we go....

ONE

I love this new Nivea in shower body lotion.  I saw a commercial on TV for it and thought it sounded perfect for me.  I love taking long showers, but as soon as I get out of the shower I always feel so rushed to get ready.  I never seem to have the time or remember to use lotion, so this stuff is awesome!  You put it on in the shower after you have used soap, and then wash it right off.  It really has helped keep my skin moisturized during the winter, plus it's just fun, gives you a reason to stay in the shower a little longer, and smells good :)

TWO

This Palmer's facial oil has been one of my best purchases this winter.  I was skeptical buying it when I saw it at Walmart, but it works really really well and has great reviews online!  I was also worried that it would cause me to break out because it's made out of oil, and I have naturally oily acne prone skin, but this has never made me break out.  It has really helped my face stay nice and moisturized during the winter.

THREE

I got a Keurig machine for Christmas and I have absolutely loved it! These chai tea lattes have been my favorite K cups so far.  If you are wanting something fun and warm to drink on a snow day, these are a great choice!

FOUR

Ya'll this show is great...I can't say it enough.  We recently signed up for Netflix and I have gotten hooked!  I have been binge watching it on snow days (with a chai tea latte) while Campbell naps ...Matt even likes it! Seriously, if you have Netflix you should really give this show a try.

FIVE

Have you ever made snow cream before?  The other day we had a snow day, so I thought it would be fun to make Campbell some snow ice cream.  Since he is allergic to milk, I substituted it for coconut milk.  He really liked it! The next time it snows you should try it...here's the recipe!

Well those are my favorite snow day essentials....I hope you enjoyed them! Make sure to link up for Friday Favorites!

Snow Day

We're having another snow day here in Texas today! So far we have made snow angels, made a snow man, and enjoyed daddy being home! While Campbell is napping, Matt and I are eating grilled cheese sandwiches and watching Parenthood on Netflix .  I LOVE snow days...and yes, we are all still in our pajamas!

Have a GREAT Thursday!!  I'll see you tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

Show and Tell Tuesday-Favorite Room

Hello and happy Tuesday to you! Today I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals for her Show and Tell Tuesday. This Tuesday we are sharing the favorite room in our homes.  The favorite room in my house is our living room! It is so comfortable, cozy, and a great place to lounge and watch tv together!  Here are some pictures of our living room...

Our sectional couch is so comfortable and it is big enough for Matt and I both to lay on or snuggle up together and watch TV!

The pallet art above the couch I actually made myself.  Matt nailed all the pieces of wood together and then I stained the wood and painted the words "Tune My Heart To Sing Thy Grace" on it.  It's probably my favorite piece of wall art that we have in our whole house!

I love the little side table that's next to our recliner.  I found it at Goodwill for $15 and then painted it white and painted the hardware black.  Our curtains are very similar to some curtains I really really loved from Potterybarn.  They are a pretty sheer blue color with a geometric pattern on them.  Unfortunately, the curtains from Potterybarn were WAY out of my price range.  So, I was patient and kept looking around until I found what I wanted.  I was able to find these at Tuesday Morning for $20 for the pair! I thought that was a steal!

I LOVE how cozy our living room feels when we have a fire going in the fireplace!  Over the weekend we had a crazy ice storm here in Texas.  We were stuck in our house for a couple days because the roads were so bad, so Matt built us a fireplace and we snuggled up on the couch and watched Parenthood.  I love the sign on our fireplace...it says The Conrads and then our wedding date underneath it.  That little rocking chair I bought at Canton for $10 and Campbell loves sitting in it!

So thanks for stopping by and checking out our living room.  Remember to link up and show us all your favorite rooms!
